Alternatives - Pregnancy Crisis CentreAlternatives is first and foremost a ministry to women, in a crisis pregnancy situation. Each counsellor is a trained volunteer with an understanding of the physical and emotional effects of a crisis pregnancy, single parenting and abortion. We provide practical support by giving out maternity and baby clothes, equipment and products to our clients in need. As part of our services we offer workshops, talks and training on the truth about Crisis Pregnancy, Abortion, and Sexual Responsibility, helping individuals to understand the reality and impact of the choices they make.

We seek to meet the spiritual needs; educate on health matters; develop gardening projects; and provide social up-liftment of an informal settlement (among the poorest of the poor) on the outskirts of Uitenhage. We have ministered here over the past seven years.
We meet every Wednesday from 10h00 – 12h00, for worship, preaching, teaching and ministry.
We provide for the numerous needs of “Zoey’s Little Lamp” Creche. This has forty children, four teachers, a secretary and “voluntary” staff. The crèche operates five days a week. We also distribute foodstuffs, fruit, veggies and clothing on a regular basis.

The “Ilitha Care Centre” has been operating for the past sixteen years.
Some sixty children are cared for, by Iris Veto and several teachers. A regular soup kitchen provides for needy folks.
We need a handy-man, who can assist with the many odd-jobs that often crop up!

A relating church in the Arcadia area of the Northern suburbs, led by Awie Matik (a gifted, fire-brand evangelist). They are presently constructing a new church building, and are in need of roof trusses, corrugated iron, lights, glass for windows, paint and seating. Once a month we help with preaching in the school classroom where they currently meet. We also assist with open-air evangelistic campaigns in the suburbs.

This is a place where men can be themselves, share their struggles and victories, pray for and support each other, learn to be better husbands, fathers and friends, connect with God, and grow in their relationship with Jesus. From young to old, we meet on Friday mornings from 05h00 to 06h30 to pray and worship God, and to support and encourage each other. (We break only over school holidays).

Our women's ministry at the Storehouse is called Zest
(aromatic, enhancing flavour, adding spice, enthusiasm, energy and love for life)
This year we plan to have two major events for the ladies:
- Our "Fragrance" Conference on 18th - 19th May at the Storehouse
- Our ladies camp with dates and venue to be announced
This year sees the launch of our new Zest groups which are primarily social and fun in nature. They are the ideal forum for ladies to connect and to form and build relationships. They afford an ideal opportunity to help integrate new ladies into the church family and also create a safe environment to invite unchurched friends and family to. These groups do not replace the communities but rather they are meant to help integrate folk who are not yet committed to a community to do so.
We are trusting for more groups to emerge - currently the groups are as follows:
- Strawberries and Dreams (Cooking, connecting, beauty tips, decorating
and much more): Michelle @ 084 614 7276
- Ladies who Dine (Supper club with a difference): Gail @ 072 219 3734
- Book and Games Club: Carla @ 079 491 2490
- Craft Club : Karen @ 082 925 2368
- Eat, Pray, Love (Healthy body, sound mind): Elmien @ 083 231 7398
- Walking / Running Club: Karen @ 082 925 2368
- Photography Club: Louise @ 082 565 8741

The highest order of man is to worship God. We endeavour as musicians to lead God’s people into a privileged place of intimacy and encounter with the Living God so that our lives are challenged and changed, but best of all – fulfilled! If you carry a skill in music, whether on an instrument or in singing, you can chat to Matthew who leads the Music Team.

People who are hard of hearing or deaf are very important to us as a church and we minister to them by sign language.
We use the Eastern Cape sign which was taught to us by our deaf friends.
If anyone is interested in learning sign language, to be able to assist us on Sundays, please contact:

Our team is passionate about making new folk feel at home. To welcome them with a friendly face and a warm embrace. Our team exercises the gift of hospitality, by connecting with visitors: as they arrive, after the service over some cake and coffee and by following up with them during the week.
